Too old to change jobs?

Posting here for traffic. I'm 58 this year & on countdown for retirement at 67. I used to be AAT qualified but let it lapse some years ago. I'd have to resit everything again. Is it worth it at my age? I'm just so bored though. I'm stuck in a purchase ledger admin job doing mostly stuff that an apprentice should be doing. The hours suit, 8 til 4, the commute is short & I like my colleagues. I don't even do all aspects of accounts payable. My dream job is to work remotely at home for a job based in London, with the occasional trip there. I love London but don't want to live there so this would be ideal. But am I too old to change now? Is there lots of age discrimination out there? We don't have that in our company.
Even so, I don't want to progress in our company because the wages aren't amazing, neither is the holiday allowance. 20 days statutory, plus bank hols, & you have to save 3 days for Xmas break which is annoying. I know there is a lot better out there! But I fear my lack of current qualifications & up to date experience will hold me back.

Not to old to change jobs - I am looking at the moment and am in my 50s. But I think it has to be the right job to move to. Not a job for job's sake.

I have had several interviews for jobs - so I know people like my skills. The company and role I get is important to me (as it could be my last potential company)

I’m so sorry to hear this, poor you - was it sudden? Hope you’re better quickly - this is where having an employer you know well and trust makes all the difference too.

Do you have appraisals with your employers? Have you told them how you feel that you are not being stretched or challenged by the job as it stands now?
You never know but staying put - but with extra responsibilities or a sideways move to another position could be just what you need. Ask for extra training to enable you to cover aspects of work that your co-workers do so you can cover each others work in case of absence. This could bring you the variety that you want in your day to day work.

Thank you all for your replies. I might try in the future but after being on hospital I'm not really in the right place. I have had a very high work volume over the last few months and have gone above & beyond to keep on top of it all & help to meet deadlines. This has resulted in another person being taken on which will allow me to take on more tasks rather than just basic stuff I have been doing and I have been given a very good pay rise.
My employer is supportive of my illness. Contract says ssp will be paid but i've received full pay too. Better the devil you know sometimes!
