To think you shouldn’t listen to true crime podcasts when children are present?

Just that really. I love true crime podcasts and listen to them when I’m cleaning the house. Which I only do when my toddler is napping and my Ds is at school. A friend listens to LOADS and told me she listens to them whenever she’s in the car - often on the school run including after she’s picked up her dd! We both listen to the same podcasts so I know exactly how graphic and detailed they can be. AIBU to think this is really inappropriate?! She thinks there’s nothing wrong with it as there are no pictures involved and her dd is only 5 so won’t understand.

Ask her how she gets a 5 year old to shut up for long enough for her to be able to listen, please!

YANBU. She’s underestimating her 5 year old.

Its not something I would listen to in earshot of a 5 year old but to each their own. There’s much worse things a parent could be doing

Id say the car is abit iffy around the house wouldn't worry me .

Umm 5 year won’t understand…..what’s she thinking?! Mine would be definitely understand and want to know what was going on. I stopped watching or listening to anything inappropriate when they were 2.5/3 and started paying attention to what it was
Although I’d like to know the answer to @GoodChat question!
