How many usable hours do you have per day before you feel tired?

I'm wondering what is normal. Have booked myself a blood test, as always low in stuff like ferritin and folate, and wondering if it's making me really tired. Have also started taking magnesium for better sleep. Have also booked myself an appointment with a doctor who has an interest in deficiencies.

A typical office day leaves me absolutely shattered. Pretty standard, up at 6.30am, home by 6pm, 45 or so minutes break for lunch. If I go out for dinner after, I am exhausted all the next day.

Chronic autoimmune issues and tired all the time
Work 9-6 or 8-5, I'm better on the 8-5 and can often do 45 mins exercise after work
This week is a write off as I haven't got enough sleep so it's work and nothing else

Oh and I'm 38 and on a computer all day at work sitting

I'd say I have a normal amount of energy, as long as I've slept at least 8 hours, I don't run out of steam until late evening.

Up at 6am, at least 3 hours exercise a day, house chores, running errands, 8 hour shifts, I'm ready for bed by 9/10pm.

I'm a healthy weight, eat a lot of veg, no health conditions. Also no kids though I help with my neice.

Have you read Spoon Theory? It's a good way to explain it. I suffer from chronic fatigue and it's a battle.

I work full time (from home, desk job so not physical). I walk the dog for an hour at lunch, and usually exercise an hour a day - running/gym. I make dinner from scratch a couple of evenings a week, DH does a couple of evenings a week and then usually I go out with DH/friends a couple of evenings too. I’m often tired by 10/11 but not exhausted and feel I’m able to have a good balance of work/cooking/chores/exercising/relaxing.

If I felt I wasn’t able to do much more than work I’d definitely be looking at blood tests/diet/general health as it sounds like not to best quality of life? Hope you can get it sorted @Terrifiedofwastingmylife

Urgh I know thr feeling OP. I go to bed most days around 830pm if not earlier. I'm also taking iron tablets and foliate. If I miss one or the other I sure suffer

I’m always tired. I have a toddler and work long days 3 days per week. I think it’s normal if you have young kids and work.
