Can you actually rewire your brain to experience emotions differently?

I have always felt emotions very intensely, particularly when it comes to things like dating and relationships, and rejection. I know this isn't a bad thing per se, and I think I'm generally healthy in my habits and the way I form relationships, but sometimes I actually feel quite jealous of people who are much more blase and measured, don't get deeply attached to people, and are able to get on with life without letting their emotions get the better of them and allowing them to have so much influence on their functioning.

For example: yesterday, someone I was dating for ~2 months ended things (it was amicable, and I wasn't in love with him or anything like that, but hopeful that maybe it could turn into something despite having quite a few reservations about him anyway), and today I feel completely bereft, unable to concentrate, unable to stop ruminating even though I already have the answers in my head, and he gave a good explanation.

I've looked into things like attachment styles, but it seems a little woo woo to me and there seems to be quite a lot of doubt cast on it as a theory anyway.

Has anyone ever had any luck or success changing this about themselves?
