I spent my 20s and early 30s basically travelling after uni. Im so not a party person but I did spend 10 years overseas.

came back to England and got an admin job and sort of just been going from job to job… basically worked my way up to a £30k job I don’t really like.

i have two degrees (did one in the 10 years whilst abroad).

i was thinking about what I want to do and health and safety looks promising as can do qualifications etc. I’m quite boring like that….do you think it would be a good idea?

Go right ahead! You presumably have another 20+ years to work, don't see why you can't enjoy it.

Can't comment on the type of role, that's totally your choice. But yes of course if you want a change then go for it. Never too late.

YANBU.

You're probably going to work for another 30 years. It makes perfect sense to want to do something you enjoy and are interested in.

not too late at all! Just imagine yourself 10 years older, would you wish your younger self to take this step - yes, probably.

and health and safety sounds like an area with a good number of jobs and hopefully decently paid.

Not too late at all. I'm your age, similar situation, and in the process of changing career. And I met some 50+ years old people changing careers. It's never too late.

Start by studying part time and working part time. You have anothet thirty years in your new career.
