@thisisasurvivor it's not for everyone, that's for sure, you have to feel 100% committed to your decision because there's no going back and it's a big big thing to do. Wishing you all the best in your journey!

@bellac11 it's funny how different people have such a different experience, it's such an individual thing. What's so weird is that the first difference in my clothes I noticed was that my sleeves are all now long. What's that all about???? The stall has broken today thank goodness, but it's exactly why you're right to wait until April!! No one needs to be worrying about stalls at this point, and it was silly for me to weigh!

Well I got to week 2, still on liquids and was panicking because I hadnt lost anything past week 1. And Im on the community pages for the provider I used and theres all the patients and lots of good advice from people who have already lived it and one person said, dont weigh yourself for 2 months

So I thought yes, put the scales away and since then Ive felt such relief that Im not tempted to spring on them everymorning hoping for some loss

Of course come April I need to be careful Im not disappointed if its not what I imagine!

Again so very helpful

Am I cut out for this 🤔

thus Makes it all sound very huh maintenance, it really isn’t. My gp does bloods every 4 months,I take a high quality multivitamin daily. I’m 16 months out, deficient in nothing and my iron count was so high when I last gave blood that they double checked it!
Hair loss affects most people who have had bariatric surgery, but it’s very temporary, usually between about months 4-8, mine was starting to regrow before it had finished coming out!
You need to do a lot of research, you’ll hear lots of scare stories, as on here, but usually about “someone I know” rather than from the person themself.
I had my sleeve abroad and the care was probably better than it would have been in the UK. My gp is happy to support me as she sees the bigger picture of the improvement in my mental and physical health.
Yes it’s a lifelong change, but to be honest if you’re at the stage of needing bariatric surgery, you probably need that restriction for life-I know I do!

As for sore knees, yes I have quite serious osteoarthritis in one, but they both used to hurt and I was just about eating paracetamol/ibuprofen daily. Now one still hurts occasionally, and I maybe need paracetamol once a month for it.
