To think what on earth possessed Hancock to choose Oakeshott?!

I mean, the woman is staunchly anti-lockdown whereas Hancock and the Government were very much pro. Why on earth would he choose someone like Oakeshott to be his ghost writer??

It's also surprising considering she was the one who broke the story that David Huhne (was that his name?) and his wife had taken speeding points for each other, and they both ended up in jail for perverting the course of justice. There's a general ethics code amongst journalists that they won't reveal their sources, and she gave them up straight away!

Chris Huhne.

Watched Nick Robinson's interview with IO this morning... I cannot bear her mock incredulity when he asks her if she warned Hancock she was about to leak the emails. The sneering, pompous arrogance is unbearable!! And the way she pretends that money doesn't even enter the equation. Ugh.

As for Hancock, how he didn't realize she would be a snake in the grass is incomprehensible.

ANNEBONNYBONES · 02/03/2023 14:18

Not emails - I mean WhatsApp messages.

Frabbits · 02/03/2023 14:20

He's a fucking idiot, it's not any more complicated than that.

It’s the frog and the scorpion fable.

I hope she got a nice payday - no source will ever trust her with anything again.

I was just going to say the same, about the frog and scorpion. The Chris Huhne/Vicky Pryce affair showed exactly what kind of person she is. I find it incredible that Hancock is angrily talking of "betrayal" - isn't that how she became famous in the first place? Who could have foreseen that the scorpion he was carrying would sting him? The sheer arrogance of the man, revealed in multiple ways that he seems to think that the rules that apply to everyone else don't apply to him. He is a prime mark for confidence tricksters because he thinks he can get away with anything.

They’re all a shower of shit. None of them have a shred of integrity, common sense or decency.

Having googled a pic of her, my first guess is he voted with his dick and thought how lovely it would be to have a beautiful woman listening to him for hours.
He forgot women have brains?

Are men really that weak ? 😆

TinaYouFatLard · 02/03/2023 14:25

It seems iffy to me.

Limited hangout/controlled reveal.

BankOfDave · 02/03/2023 14:25

Ghost writing is one thing, handing over ALL his WhatsApp messages - what an absolute idiot, irrespective of whether they should be public record or not.

Have to say though that if this was all done in the public interest altruistically on her part, I would like written confirmation she has received zero payment for it. Otherwise she has indeed breached the NDA for profit in my view.

KattyKattyKatz · 02/03/2023 14:26

He obviously let his D... rule his head . Seen it so many times .

BankOfDave · 02/03/2023 14:28

I generally have a low opinion of most politicians but if I was one I would only be having verbal conversations in steele/iron clad rooms! Everything is recorded and leaked these days.

I think its hilarious he has the gall to issue a statement this morning saying he feels massively betrayed....

Says the man caught on camera cheating on his wife.

Utter hypocrite.

👏🏻This 💯

There's two potential scenarios here

  1. He was too trusting, and thought that an NDA would be adequate.
  2. He knew that she would break the NDA, and as much as it makes him look bad, it also takes down the rest of the government as well and shows that he's not the patsy that he's being made out to be? He's easily managed to take down Williamson with him. Potentially Johnson and Sunak as well...
ThreeFeetTall · 02/03/2023 15:26

Do you think it was her that persuaded him to go on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (to help her book sales)??

Own stupid fault. If he didn't see that one coming he's more of a fool than we thought.

Is that even possible?

It's not like his mistress isn't good looking either and I'm sure she listens to him! Unless this was some bizarre revenge take everyone down with me fantasy, what a complete tit.

She’s not a paid public servant. He was and still is.

Good points. If I’m going down in the public enquiry you’re all coming with me. Quick
look over there…! 👀

LlynTegid · 02/03/2023 18:25

The people who should have the information are the CPS. Mr Hancock along with Mr Johnson should be in court for manslaughter given their decisions.

Isn't there a third scenario where Hancock is in on it to get his name back in the public eye, boost book sales and his future career as a "celebrity".
