Anybody feeling sorry for Sarah Vine? She's lost friends . . .

Whinging on about Brexit which she has supported throughout. This has caused her to suffer damaged relationships. So she hopes Sunak's deal is a first step in repairing the vast damage that supporting the inane Brexit policy has caused. But no word of apology from Ms Vine. So please feel sorry for her. Poor thing. AIBU to cite Oscar Wilde? 'You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh . . .'

I stopped inviting brexit bores, either side of the equation to dinner a long time ago.

In Sarah Vine’s case I think she most probably had some really lame friends in the first place! She needs new friends.

My friends and I disagree on all sorts, but it rarely affects the friendship, we are adults and accept all points of view. Small minded people that can only tolerate their ‘truth’ would not be someone I would choose to spend my time with.

Sarah needs to broaden her circle and meet people that are open minded and chill. It’s good to hear different views and share thoughts that are alternative to your own, but the brexit thing has been done to death.
Divorce can also create friendship issues.

Start afresh Sarah.

The friendship in question is with David and Samantha Cameron, so in this case it very much is

It's not easy to start afresh even with money, grown up kids etc. it's amazing how many so called friends drop you once you aren't part of a couple! (Even when you are anti brexit and not the guilty party) My marriage broke down in 2019 and few of the people I thought were friends wanted to invite me anymore, plus lots of joint friends. I decided to move away for a fresh start

I hold no love for her but there are hundreds of women on here with bad judgement in husbands. We don't condemn them for that reason.

Why (not aimed at you) is it ok to be spiteful about another woman because we disagree with her? We don't have to be 'nice' and it's fine to argue the points but sheer spite is unnecessary.

If Sarah Vine is a horrible person, which I believe she is, I don't see what her being female has to do with anything. I think she's loathsome, deserves any unhappiness coming to her, and her sex is utterly irrelevant.

A friend ditched me over Brexit, we had a silly spat at school sports day of all places!

Anyway my dh got told to go home and my dc got comments at school for their foreign names so pff, nah not sorry for her.

I have never read anything she has written, I occasionally see her on TV, giving her opinion on the newspapers take on the news. I don't get the impression she is paid to be nuanced or 'kind' about anything ? I don't know if what she writes is what she actually thinks ?

she can be quite personally nasty about people whereas here pretty much all I see is people criticising her words/actions against others. It’s not like she’s been attacked at a more personal level

She has made her career of being vile about other women in a national newspaper. She didn't lose her friendship with the Camerons 'because of Brexit' but because of the way she, and her husband, behaved. To be surprised after such a public betrayal, demonstrates just how much she understands friendship.

Mrs Sarah Swire, Tory wife and blabbermouth, summed up Ms Vine in her 'tell all' book a few years ago. Never seen any reason to disagree. We don't all get what we deserve but some of us, Ms Vine, deserve all we get.

The only time I've agreed with a Tory 😂
