To wonder why nothing can ever just be nice?

My fiancé and I have been having a really though time recently however the main thing causing the tough time was over at the end of January and we have been looking forward to getting our lives back, reconnecting and treating ours selves.

We decided to treat ourself to a new bathroom as the old one was the original from the 90s. Having it installed was horrible and disruptive as building work is but the finished result was beautiful and we were really happy.

Until this evening we noticed it has started leaking into the living room below! I could weep that this treat to get us through a shitty time is now turning into such a ball ache and ruining our decor downstairs…which will be another ball ache to rectify.

Is nothing ever JUST nice?

Currently feels like I have spent £7.5k we don’t really have to have a bathroom that wasn’t leaking, leak 😭

Mine is not a plumbing story but I saw your thread and I agree - nothing feels nice or simple. DS (14) has type 1 diabetes which is a pretty shit hand to be dealt to be honest - those who don’t have it often think it’s a case of injecting insulin and getting on with life. It really, really isn’t that simple. He does amazingly most of the time and had a superb parents evening so we agreed to put some money towards a new phone for him. It arrived yesterday and turns out the glucose monitor app will not work on any new phone systems because despite taking millions from the NHS the drug company haven’t got off their arse and upgraded their apps to work with any new operating systems. Poor DS was unbelievably fed up with diabetes last night and lamenting the fact that he has it forever and is done with it 😭 Something that was supposed to be a nice thing was just a massive disappointment.

Anyway, rant over. Sorry OP. Glad your bathroom is being sorted though.

You didn’t start the thread either. What’s your point?

Confused! 😂

@Libre2 thats such a shame I can imagine your DS was gutted. I have plenty of other examples where things that are meant to be nice have been spoiled or over complicated. It really gets me down 😔

I am lucky the plumber came out this morning and with good grace - back to showering at the gym tonight so the new sealant can dry

We had a new bathroom that we'd saved up for. Toilet wasn't connect up properly, so middle of the night I flushed and got soaking wet feet and the new flooring was ruined. Pee and water everywhere. Angry

As a pp said, hot water does set blood. I use whitening sheets. Currently have Dr Beckmann Glowhite as it was cheap in Wilkos, but I’ve found that supermarket own brands work well too.

Huh?!😅 Think you've got the wrong thread.
