Sorry posting on here for the voting option.

A couple of weeks ago I saw my dream job on indeed.
I literally cannot think of a more perfect job for me and I genuinely believe that I would be very good at it and could bring a lot to the role.

Unfortunately, the deadline had ended a couple of days before but it was still on Indeed and so I sent an email and cover letter anyway, as it is a job that wouldn’t come up very often and so I had to just try it.

I emailed on 13th February but I’ve still not heard anything back, even to say I’m unsuccessful.

It is a charity and so they may not have the time to reply to every single person but I have been asked to take on a more senior role at my current work and I don’t want to accept it if I am in with a chance with this job.

So, do I email them again and ask if I am unsuccessful or does that come across as rude?
Or I should just wait and see or accept that I was late applying and therefore not in with a chance?

YABU - do not email them again.
YANBU - do email them again.

Thank you.

Sometimes the field is weak or not many people have applied and they may be happy to extend the deadline. It would help if you had a genuine reason for missing it. If they have a strong field and have shortlisted then maybe not this time . But you can ask them about future opportunities or where they advertise?

I think YABU but not because following up would be wrong, but because you say you didn't apply on Indeed and instead emailed them your application. You always have to meet employers where they are and follow the application procedure they have set out. You didn't follow the most basic instruction about how to apply for the job, as the hiring manager that would put me off hiring you because it tells me you go off-piste. I think @saltinesandcoffeecups has it right.

I doubt they've even looked at it. You missed the deadline. End of.

I'm not sure how Indeed works but it might be that the company weren't given access to your application because you had missed the deadline. I wouldn't waste your time contacting them.

It’s still open for applications on Indeed so you can ‘click to apply’ and it has your CV saved on it but in the job description it said the deadline which is why I emailed them and didn’t do it through indeed.

Ah so you didn't apply via Indeed which might be the only way the vacancy was advertised. An unsolicited email, after the deadline, wouldn't have been considered where I work.
