DH has a habit of talking out of his arse. He just says stuff with no justification.

Example tonight

Sitting on the sofa watching the news. Turns to me and says

"You know that Northern Irish policeman? I reckon he might have been corrupt. That's why they went for him"

I say

"Where on earth have you got that idea? The IRA group has already claimed it. Its horrendous"

He says "nah, I don't know. I just got a feeling. Maybe im wrong"

WHAT???

He doesn't want to talk about it. He hasn't read anything about it. If I try to say he's talking rubbish he says I'm getting wound up over nothing and he's just saying theories on stuff

He does it all the time. Says stuff with authority when he has none.

Honestly it makes me really feel such deep deep dislike for him. Because sometimes its offensive like that example but also it's just baffling and I think he's an idiot

AIBU? Is it OK to feel such irritation?

I sometimes am vocal about it and tell him I hate his random theories and he says it makes him feel like he can't speak freely in his own house but I mean....come on

I’d find the clear lack of evidence of a mind a work massively irritating.

We all say daft stuff etc. before our brain engages or before we’ve given it proper thought. But the unwillingness to realise and reassess would drive me utterly insane.

Would he keep on insisting he is right if you said ' what on earth are you on about ? You are making zero sense and sound ridiculous!' If so that's very annoying !
