A-list celebrities with their home gyms and personal chefs actually seem to be the most disciplined of them all. I don’t think that makes it easy. I couldn’t do a week on Victoria Beckham’s diet for instance .

Fatty91 · 26/02/2023 18:24

I'd have someone cook and clean while I exercise I could.take my baby in there with me in the pram lol she'd love the white noise lol.

You say you can’t go in the evening because your children would never see you. Why can’t you go one or two evenings a week for 30 to 40 min and the same at the weekend? Were you seriously thinking of going 5 days a week for 4 hours, then all day weekends?

PlantKi1ler · 26/02/2023 18:28

Home work out videos could be an option if you're not able to go to the gym (and you're feeling upto it) I really like "Grow with Jo".

Obviously diet will be a big factor too but I really wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself considering you only gave birth 7 weeks ago!

@UWhatNow i found breastfeeding helped hugely personally. I couldn't eat everything in sight and lose weight, but I could certainly eat normally and the weight fell off. Shame I'm not having any more babies and now have to actually do the work.

I know you said you're not breast feeding but that's how I lost weight. By week six I was back to normal weight.

Lcb123 · 26/02/2023 18:29

You don’t need to go to the gym, you could try home workouts on YouTube whist baby is there. Meal Plan healthy meals with loads of fruit, veg, whole grains etc. and plan healthy snacks

Bigmummaof2 · 26/02/2023 18:29

The most sensible way to lose weight is to follow a calorie deficit (calorie controlled diet) you can download an app called nutracheck and you can scan all your foods and it will tell you the calories. And also the calories you should be eating to lose weight! Don’t rush it. Good luck x

Fatty91 · 26/02/2023 18:32

I won't be trying to start up breastfeeding now I wouldn't be able to give her enough anyway she has 6 ounces of formula every 3 hour's she likes her food lol.

I wonder if those who lost weight while bfing lost weight in spite of bfing, not because of it. I have read that the body actually retains fat stores while bfing, which would make more sense from an evolutionary perspective. Was certainly the case for me- I didn’t return to pre-pregnancy weight until I had stopped bfing.

Again, you don’t need to go to the gym. Find a YouTube trainer you like. You can work out perfectly well at home. Cardio is what you need to be doing, and there’s lots of options that require little to no equipment. Get some resistance bands for strength training and you’re good to go.

Notimeforaname · 26/02/2023 18:36

You have about 16 weeks til the end of June.
Aim for 2-3lbs loss per week and you'll be at your target.
Its more about the diet than the exercise.
Concentrate on what you are eating and do whatever exercise you actually enjoy and have time to do.

wonkymonkey · 26/02/2023 18:46

Noom (diet) and Apple Fitness (from comfort of own home) are your friends! Worked for me!

Fatty91 · 26/02/2023 18:50

I want to lose it for when I go back to work my daughters christening and summer time.

Nutri check app. Work out your calories needed in a day. Generally if you eat 1000-1200, you'll be hungry so eat more. 1500 is a more doable and sustainable. Look at your macros. Lots of protein will fill up. Lower your carbs and sugar. My husband has lost 2 stone since the beginning of January doing this. As he's male, taller and a lots heavier, his calories are higher but same principles with protein in take and low carbs and sugar. You will need to adjust your food choices to make the most of your calories.

Okunevo · 26/02/2023 18:56

Your title doesn't match your post. YABU to post this in AIBU.

Best way is healthy weight gain in pregnancy, one and a half to two stone (before giving birth). Second best way is to breastfeed, this is what any extra fat stores are for. Obviously too late now, so the third best option is healthy eating at a slight calorie deficit combined with regular exercise. You don't need a home gym. Aim for slow and steady weight loss.

Me too.

How can it be a myth when it’s something that happens? Look at any mammal breastfeeding on demand, and you’ll see it in action.

SomersetONeil · 26/02/2023 19:01

Irrelevant for this OP who isn’t breastfeeding, but since the question has been raised ….
