I think for me it’s always trying to make sure everyone’s ok
and that can feel like spinning plates

The relentlessness
Sleep deprivation
The juggle
Bloody stupid dressing up days at school and nursery

Mental health for sure. I look at my friends with toddlers and just think 'fucking amateurs'.

AllOfThemWitches · 26/02/2023 10:23

Yea, the constant worry.

PuttingDownRoots · 26/02/2023 10:25

The constant judgement of everything. Daring to make a different decision to someone else is seen as an insult.

The juggling.

Bedtime/night. When DS was a baby I thought, it's ok because the disturbed nights won't be forever.

He's nearly 10, suspected ASD. Can't go to sleep without me, is currently not going to sleep until around midnight and often wakes in the night. We go up at 8pm, so 4/4.5 hrs every day is me sat in his bedroom, and means I basically have no downtime except when DH takes DS swimming.

The constant feeling of responsibility for another human being. I find it hard and overwhelming.

I second this. It's huge and can't be escaped from. Terrifying.

Meals. Deciding meals, buying the required items, cooking meals, listening to atleast one of 3 complain about said meal. 3 times a day. Every day. week in week out. I hate it. I hate the deciding and shopping most, but all of it. I would quite happily now live off coffee and never deal with food again if i had that option
