Turns out current manager already has a plan in place with HO and has informed them that I’ll be taking over the running of the shop FT from X date when she will be retiring.
Absolutely no discussion with myself about this. I didn’t even know she was planning to retire soon! HO have been actively making arrangements for months apparently but nobody thought to ask me 🤔🙄
I’m now the one that “left them in a bit of a situation” as they’ll have to hire and train someone to work above me which wasn’t in their plans. Would you be annoyed by this?
Shes had discussions with other staff members about my home life/childcare/possible future children and how that may impact arrangements and how I’ll be able to work FT when my child is X age!!
