Gig tickets

I'm trying to get some gig tickets for my mum as a gift. I can get 2 separate tickets (for me and her) they're near to each other but not together.

AIBU to buy the tickets and think that there's enough space to stand together? They are seated tickets but it's a stadium in the summer so if we enter just before the gig starts I doubt all seats will be sat in and there should be enough space for standing to be fine?

If they are seated tickets in a stadium I'd doubt you'll be able to stand together (not enough space/you'd be in peoples way). I wouldn't be buying separate seats if it was me (unless you don't mind not sitting together).
Any gig big enough to take place in a stadium is unlikely to have spare seats.
I've been to quite a few concerts and unless getting standing tickets then you would need to buy seats together or sit apart if none available.

If they are seated tickets you will not be able to stand together at any point. You are allocated seats and expected to stay there. That’s been the case at every seated gig I’ve ever been to. Which is a lot

KrisAkabusi · 22/02/2023 14:45

That won't work. You're expected to stick to your allocated seats and there's no way of moving from the seated area to the standing area.

if they are seated tickets you may not be able to stand at all anyway (depends on the bend, the venue and the people around you i guess). You may be able to persuade everyone between you and your mum to move over one seat on the night, but no guarantee of that.

Which gig?

Hi if you are on the same row you could ask everyone to budge up so you could be together?

Thisisnotmyname2022 · 22/02/2023 14:48

Id say depends on gig and which stadium…

I go to many gigs.. some you’d get away with, others not a chance. It would also depend if one was right by an aisle… that would help.

Pitch/floor standing usually have a separate wristband and or entrance, so you cant just wander down to the floor/pitch.
Very occasionally you can blag your way down but it's extremely rare.

TheFlis12345 · 22/02/2023 14:49

If the gig has sold out to the extent that you can’t get two tickets together it is very likely to be full on the day. How far apart are the 2 seats? If it’s just a few seats apart people might be kind enough to move down but equally they might not wish to and they are perfectly within their rights to say no and sit in the seats they paid for. You won’t be allowed to stand in the aisle or move to another section.

Nah, you won't be able to. I mean there's a tiny chance but I'd only buy them if you're 100% happy sitting/standing separately.

It's pretty miserable having to stand when you have a seat, not much room at all. You'll massively inconvenience someone else trying to cram into their seat space, 99% of people would tell you to bugger off and get back to your seat.
