Basically these items were suggested on a thread about keeping warm, and rather derail that thread, how good are these items vs the cold weather ?

I don't really understand wrist warmers - I don't tend to get cold wrists.

For those with raynauds type issues keeping wrists warm helps keep hands warm.

I wear mine non stop in winter for this reason.

Wrist warmers are good
Socks not so much

On those shrinking cashmere socks - they need to be hand washed only and as someone else said up thread only worn in bed to stop them wearing out

Ginmonkeyagain · 22/02/2023 09:27

@CaramelMach ahh I see. I tend to run hot - bad pastry hands!

Much appreciated all

One of the benefits of cashmere is how light it is. If, like me, you hate feeling weighed down by wool jumpers, cashmere is the answer.

I have two cashmere pashminas, one on the radiator in my bedroom, one on the radiator in my living room. If I get a bit chilly, I just wrap one round my shoulders and upper back, and I'm fine.

My daughter swears by her cashmere wrist warmers when wfh in winter. It leaves her fingers free to use her computer and phone, but keeps her hands warm.

I love cashmere socks I buy white company and tartan blanket company (cashmere and merino blend). As others have said they should not be worn as regular socks. I wear mine when sitting.
, reading watching TV etc and to sleep in. They really do keep you warm and feel lovely.

Washing should be hand wash in cold water, a little non bio washing liquid and rinse with running water.

if you are just looking for something to keep you warm to save on heating then you really can’t beat an oodie though.

Turtle Dove cashmere wrist warmers are excellent. For socks lambswool is my go to. I have a few pairs that I wear instead of slippers that keep me toasty.
