Censoring pictures of pets

I follow a minor celeb on Instagram who regularly posts pictures of her two dogs

A few days ago, she posted a pic of them asleep, with a twee emoji sticker covering the genital area of one of them, and a mention in the caption about preserving her modesty.

I thought it was a bit weird at the time but have now noticed several other similar pics on other accounts. Is this a thing?

Surely no one cares that a bit of dog dick or vulva is showing on a pic?! What do they think will happen?

Judging from the way my dog lies on her back with everything on show, she definitely isn’t bothered…

I am in a few dog groups on FB, and this is a thing on there too. Assholes, vulvas and penises all censored. The dog will never care.

Hahaha made me laugh

The only pet censoring I approve of is by Pet Portraits by Hercule on FB.

That cat jewel is awful, now it looks like a butt plug?

Iam4eels · 19/02/2023 22:33

Proof that you can't polish a turd dispenser but you can roll it in glitter.

Pseudonamed · 19/02/2023 22:44

All I have to add to this thread is 😂

The world. Has gone. Fucking mad.

Mad Ted.

Applesandcarrots · 19/02/2023 22:49

I love that when i googled "cat arse jewel" Google knew exactly what I am after.

I think someone here bought it for their cat because magpies are mental and you can often hear cat scream😂

Aw. Thanks OP. This have given me a nice chuckle at the end of a weekend.

Randomly my tiktok has just showed a woman yelling at her great dance (I think) that it's time to cover his dick and he stands there docile while she puts a wrap on him covering him up which puzzles me how does a boy dog pee with a modesty cover on?

FrangipaniBlue · 19/02/2023 23:19

I suspect it's because otherwise eejits like a couple on this thread would report the posts and then they would get deleted.......

whatsup00 · 20/02/2023 00:02

Seems weird because surely it just draws more attention to it?

whatsup00 · 20/02/2023 00:03

I once felt guilty for posting a picture of my hamster on the toilet though (She had a corner toilet).

oldwhyno · 20/02/2023 00:25

im sensing a business opportunity for doggy underwear.

not lingerie, purely practical stuff.

AudreyBabs · 20/02/2023 01:01

It is a shame as I'm sure the dog's arsehole would have been the most real thing about their post. Not only that, younger generations will think that cats are supposed to have flower emojis for vaginas - which promotes unrealistic expectations for animals alike.

mondaytosunday · 20/02/2023 01:25

Surely she was just being cute? Not anything I'd give a second thought to really (I mean the post itself).

DulcetTones · 20/02/2023 01:27

Is it not done as a joke? Of course the dog or cat doesn't mind, but neither do most people particularly want to see an animal's genitals or anus when they're scrolling through social media. However, the solution would be cropping them out or framing the photo more carefully, not using strategically placed emojis. 🙀

XenoBitch · 19/02/2023 22:10

I have seen random ads on social media selling a little mini chain that goes around a cat's tail, and has a sparkly gem hiding their arsehole.

That isn't real. It's a joke. No cat would stand for that 😂

Calistan · 20/02/2023 02:10

Have seen this too on reddit, mostly done for laughs. I miss nature documentaries which aren't just a vehicle for bludgeoning me about the head with climate change rhetoric. Looking at you Mr Attenborough.

KimberleyClark · 20/02/2023 05:59

I’m reminded of a video I once saw of a woman doing yoga in her garden, phone on stand so she is videoing herself. All of a sudden her dog wanders by and decides to have a roll on the grass next to the camera. All you can see is dog’s bollocks.

Emptycrackedcup · 20/02/2023 06:00

It's kinda gross for the person seeing it, although I'm sure the dog doesn't care 🤣

AllWorkYoPlait · 20/02/2023 06:17

My girl cat once had a butt trouser trim that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. It was obscene in ways I hadn't expected - I was used to bum holes, but hadn't previously given girl cat anatomy that much thought.

She was parading that bare vulva with pride. I wish I could've slapped an emoji on her Grin

PuttingDownRoots · 20/02/2023 06:18

This reminds me of a school trip ehen I was 16 (all girls school) when half way through an explanation the horse behind the guide (young male) decided to prove his stallionhood... cue the whole class of girls giggling and the teacher having no idea why and getting g increasingly embarrassed.

I love his drawings. Hilarious

dentydown · 20/02/2023 06:22

Is it for the algorithm that detects the genitalia or genitals and then rejects a photograph?

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 20/02/2023 06:29

I'm on a few FB dig groups. It seems to be a minority of Americans who censor their dogs genitals. But here in the UK it always astonishes me when we meet someone out dog-walking who stops their dog from sniffing the butts of other dogs. Not only is that silly, I think it's actually cruel.

Yes it is. They should be allowed to interact and exchange greetings in a civil manner!
