To not know how to dress my 9m

Hi everyone, FTM here so still figuring things out. DH and I are expats in a hot country so DS is always pretty much in a vest or top and shorts (vest with 0.5 bag at night).

We are visiting family in London on Tues for a week and I have no idea what he's supposed to wear during the trip? Long sleeved tops with a vest and jacket? Leggings under trousers?

Also what to wear to sleep? Bodysuit with a vest and 2.5 sleeping bag? Or no sleeping bag?

Please help!! 😫

Thanks in advance

Long sleeve top, vest and trousers. It’s still coat weather here too.
Probably that’s too much for at night unless where you’re staying gets really cold, can you check the temp in the room and then decide whether they have sleep suit and sleeping bag or how many layers

My DS is 8 months, he is wearing a long sleeve vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag. It is usually 16/17 in our room but I think drops a little at night. Are you staying in a hotel? They always seem incredibly hot at night.

In the day he is wearing leggings/trousers, long sleeve vest and a jumper. Extra layer if we go out and about in the pram. I usually put a little coat on him and then he has the blanket over his legs. Today is the first day he’s not worn his hat out in the pram as it was very sunny.

Put him in the same amount of layers that you are wearing, plus one.

At that age my DS was usually in a short sleeve vest, long sleeve top and comfy joggers + hoodie. Long sleeve sleep suit by night.

He needs one jacket/coat.
Then for each day he needs a long sleeved vest, a cardigan and joggers/trousers plus socks.
Thickest sleeping bag plus long armed and legged baby gro at night.

The chart on this page is handy for knowing how to dress babies at night:

At home:
Vest, long sleeve top, jeans or jogging bottoms and a jumper/hoddie/cardigan, depending how cold the house is.

Outside - warm coat and a footmuff or thick blanket in the buggy. If the coat has no hodd than you also need a hat.

At night - again, it depends on the house. DD wore a longsleeve vest, pyjama, 2.5 grobag and we had a blanket on standby if the night was cold. Clearly she didn't believe what the Grobag company suggested for nightwear.

As a general rule it is whatever you are wearing plus a vest in the daytime. No idea about sleeping bags but a blanket folded over seems about right unless the room is exceptionally hot or cold. I never had heating on at night

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!
