Is it ok? Mummy bloggers?

Not wanting to start a nasty thread but scrolling Instagram tonight it occurred to me that I've seen more photos or certain mum bloggers kids growing up than I have of my own friends dc! I've followed some of them for years and in the early days I genuinely found them enjoyable and informative to read. But as tech has moved on it's all Instagram lives and tik toks and frankly I feel so sorry for the kids who in a few years time will either be mortified by this or conditioned to comply.

Is it too much?

I really do think that when children of today are adults, there will be some sort of class action law suit about lack of privacy against social media platforms. I also worry about how some influencers can’t see the dangers of always having their kids faces out there for all to see. Not just from a safety POV but the POV that these kids may one day be quite pissed off that they were plastered all over the internet without giving informed consent.

But hey as long as mummy and daddy are getting click throughs who gives a shit about the kids’ feelings.

I don't post photos of my child on the internet for lots of reasons but yes one of them is for when he is an adult, so I don't follow people that to the same as to me it it wrong

But I guess if you grow up with your parents posting every thing you do it is probably normal for them so when they are adults they probably won't care as they may possible in a bubble with other people and their kids to it might be all normal to everyone they interact with

It’s a huge invasion of their children’s privacy. Plus there are so many sick weirdos on the internet, but the parents are ok with that in order to make money. It shouldn’t be allowed.

I don't agree with people should be exploiting their kids most vulnerable moments for money it's terrible. The US definitely has a lot more mommy blogger types than the uk tho

I don't follow any American ones really. There are two British ones that I have followed for years, started off as bloggers but I'm not sure their blogs even exist now. It's mostly social media posts and vlogs.
