There are all kinds of variables I imagine between universities eg academic ratings, student satisfaction etc. However, in general what are the pros and cons of moving away for university compared to staying at home and studying locally. I’m really torn on what I want DD to do (her choice ultimately). Aibu to ask for advice on the pros and cons of each option?
yabu- it’s better to move away

I mean this gently but it isnt something you should be concerned about, it is up to them. The only thing you need to work out is how much student loan thru can get based on your household income, and how much you can afford to top up. One of my DD's stayed home at first, a very different experience.

I think it's better to move away.

I commuted and missed out on so much socially, plus it was a long day.

Both my dc moved away and have thrived. It's so much more than just the academic side of things and really helps them grow up.
