AIBU to jump ship -NHS

Worked in the NHS in a clinical role for close to a decade. From the start I could have made more money in another health provider but wanted to help patients / make a difference (all the usual reasons for signing up) NHS salaries are poor and realistically unlikely to see a big improvement any time soon. I like helping patients but I am tired of the internal politics and bureaucracy.
There is an opportunity to work for a private company providing nhs services on a better wage.
On the surface it’s more money for more straight forward clinical work with less responsibility. My apprehension is that my current role is quite unique and I would be unlikely to go back if they grass wasn’t greener. There’s a lot of hostility between the private providers and the NHS trusts in this area.
Even approaching the company with an application could ruin my career here if it was found out. AIBU to consider this move? It almost feels like cheating and betrayal of my colleagues.
YABU - stay put YANBU go for it

I imagine your NHS job is more secure and with better benefits (pension, sick leave, etc.) than the private company, unless they agree to continue these like for like? Depending on your age and health, these are not benefits to give up lightly.
