To not go to this beautician for this reason

I have a beautician local to me who is very handy to go to and does a good job but the way she advertises her prices really annoys me and makes me not wanting to go. Basically her prices are for each eye, not both for things like lash lift, eyebrow dying etc but who on earth only gets one done at a time! It caught me out the first time I went and she asked for double the amount I thought it would be and then she explained why.
Am I the only person who thinks this is odd?

That is so bizarre!

I'm also intrigued if she prices up x10 for a manicure!

Why just limit herself per eye, she could start charging per eye last tinted or per hair follicle ripped out!

I definitely wouldnt go to her and yes would be tempted to put a comment on Google review etc saying so she doesn't catch anyone else out! I'd also be tempted to make it a really glowing review as if you think this is a marvellous idea so she can't even complain that its malicious!

Good job she’s not a nail tech….

🤣🤣🤣
That's beautiful

Why would she do this? She must surely end up having multiple 'heated debates' every day as she explains her pricing system to the duped. Who'd want that kind of headache?

I wonder if she just relies on most people being too surprised and polite to say anything.

I remember having the conversation with my mate about if we were beauticians whether we would charge half price on leg waxing for amputees.

This. It’s mad. Hairdresser - that’ll be £25 000 please, I charge per hair 😆.

I would be so tempted to have fun with this, and just go and get one eye done. Then pop back a week or so later to get the other one done. I suppose that only works if you don't care how odd you look in the meantime though!

CuteCillian · 07/02/2023 17:28

Maybe someone has pulled her up for discriminating against people with unilateral eyebrow aloplecia?
Is it a misguided attempt to be inclusive?

Warrensrabbit · 07/02/2023 17:31

Is it published anywhere in the small print? I wonder whether she is cheaper but she tries it on with people who look like they can afford it?

That is madly odd!!!

Hahahah. Ask her who has one eyebrow done?!?

I believe that Horatio Nelson always opted for this.

MenopausalMe · 07/02/2023 17:36

Yeah I wouldnt go back, you need to be able to trust beauticians and thats deceptive behaviour

DulcetTones · 07/02/2023 17:38

She's clearly trying to give people who wear an eyepatch a fair price. Why should they pay the same for half the work?!

katseyes7 · 07/02/2023 17:40

I've been going to salons for nearly 50 years and l've never in my life seen anyone do this. How bizarre!
