Hi all,

not sure if I’ve posted in the right place, I haven’t used mumsnet in a while.

I was wondering if anyone could help.

im considering becoming a psychotherapist but am struggling to understand the pathway to becoming own as there are so many different masters courses.

I would be interested in psycho analytic therapy, I’m particularly interested in jungian therapy but open to other more general forms of psychotherapy.

I have an undergrad degree in politics which I achieved an upper 2:1.

could anyone tell me what the next steps would be? I’m based in London and am assuming the next step would be a masters/foundation. Could anyone recommend a university?

thank you so much for taking the time to read!

Bear in mind to be in counselling or psychotherapy field, you need choose a course that is accredited by recognised association ie BACP .

It's a long road

There are plenty of courses that don't offer recgnised accreditation and you could only use for private practice. Jungian theory is very old school, many newer impactful theoretical models have developed the field since then
