Waking at 5 (or earlier) 7 days a week is draining me

I hate it. I don’t have any evening because I have to go to bed so early in order to get a decent amount of sleep.

I don’t know why my toddler wakes so early, have tried the just treating it as a night wake up but it doesn’t work.

Has anyone got any suggestions at all? Desperate.

Ugh DD was like this. She’s still an early riser age 10 but not that early thank god!

Gro clock helped as did plenty of firmness about keeping quiet as it’s nighttime until the sun is up on the clock. There was never any chance she was going back to sleep so it was about keeping quiet rather than sleeping.

There were a lot of months where I would get up at 5/5.30, check her nappy etc and give her a pile of books and toys to look at till the sun came up, and try to get an extra snooze myself in the meantime.

At a similar part with my two year old. He was recently having 2-3 hour naps in the afternoon and I have cut that back to 1 hour tops and he now sleeps mostly till 6.30.

He absolutely can't drop the nap yet as pretty much falls asleep standing up at 1pm.

The other thing which will change soon is the weather - once it gets lighter/warmer he will be running around outside much more to help get him tired.
