Some advice for this old hypochondriac

Posting here for traffic as I really need advice at 3.30am.

My 21 month old sleeps in beside me most nights but tonight whilst I was sleeping she must have sat up in the dark and not realised where she was. She lay back down with an almighty force and smashed her front head right off my temple and side of my face.

I think I actually seen white in my dream that’s how hard she hit it. I’ve spent the last 30 mins with a wet towel over it and cried a little as it was very very sore. I’m just wondering if I should ring NHS 24 because I’m now lying here terrified that I’m about to have a bleed on the brain or something as the whole left side of my face feels warm and my temple is sore to touch.

Or am I being dramatic?

Thanks.

You're being dramatic. Mind you, you might end up with a bit of a black eye, depending on exactly where she hit you, but you're not going to have a brain bleed from a toddler bumping heads with you.

Unless you're on blood thinners I think there's no risk of brain bleeds from this. Even if you are on blood thinners the risk is probably tiny.

My elderly mum had a head vs pavement encounter on Sunday and even then clinical advice is now not to scan unless on blood thinners.

Gently, I think you’ll be fine. Heads are pretty tough really.

Do you have any arnica you can put on? Also take ibuprofen and paracetamol together.
