To feel this weak after exercise!

Last year, I got zero exercise. Zero! And then I got covid late 2022 (it was mild).

Im wfh today and my office email server was down. While they fixed it, I went for a short jog (30mins). Slow jog, more like a brisk walk. I was ok when I came back. Had a bit of breakfast and tea. After about an hour I began having a splitting headache and feeling really weak. Especially in my arms. chest feels a
bit tight, just below the collarbone in the middle.

I took a paracetamol and ate lunch. I feel slightly better now. Could this be because I exercised after a long time or am I having a cardiac event here? Hesitant to bother the NHS unnecessarily, but I’m getting worried 😟

Just to be clear, there is no specific left side weakness. All my symptoms are both sides iykwim.

It could be a reaction to not being that physically fit. I went for an uphill walk this morning and felt fucked afterwards. A lot of the reason is you are hugely dehydrated. How much water do you drink? 2 litres a day is recommended

I probably drank 1-2 glasses since morning.

Dehydrations and low blood pressure does this to me but I think a slow jog for 30 minutes was too much for someone who hasn't been working out for a while. I think I would start more gently and make sure you stay hydrated, something with 'salts' like smart water? I would try 15 minutes first then build up extra five minutes every five days or something like that.
Well done on doing it though! Keep at it.

you really need to start super slow like with couchto5k for this kind of thing. Start with just a few mins, build up over a longer period of time.

If you're unfit your fitness will take a long time to build up, and if you push too hard you will struggle.

I always find if I work out early in the day it leaves me exhausted, so try to do it in the evenings before dinner. I think for some people the time of day can have an impact on feeling awful after, at least while they are unfit or trying to get fit from a point of not very fit.

Maybe vary the time of day and do a very slow build up from a few mins a day or couch 2 5k. Try exercising evenings to see if that makes a difference.

I think it's a lack of exercise.
Im in a similar boat. Adopted a dog just over a week ago so im now out of bed an hour and a half earlier to take him to the beach on a long walk.
Prior to that ive had very little exercise since I started WFH during covid.

I swear to god one week later and I feel like a broken woman.
Lots of headaches, and chest feels a bit tight but ive realised its because of shoulder tension as it releases when I roll my shoulders back, and my lower back and calves are killing for walking on sand.

Keep at it is the only advice I can give, even tho it hurts.
