To give back pushchair mil gave me?

First off, I realise I am fortunate in this situation. When we had my DS my MIL bought us the Bugaboo Fox 3 pushchair. It works well and has plenty of storage, but it is massive and is hard to get in and out of our house and takes up a lot of space. We live in London so space is at a premium. We already had a pushchair at the time and ours is much better suited to London life (folds down small, light, easily fits on buses, etc). Would I be horrible to give MIL back the pushchair she bought us ?

Yeah, offer it back. She might not want it in which case could you sell it? Give her the money if you and she want.

We had this. We got an uppababy vista and then a compact stroller.

Now my baby is a toddler we use the compact stroller so much more. But! I wouldn't part with the vista because it's the right sort of pram for a newborn - better suspension, has a bassinet for naps etc.

I'd look at this more like - the bugaboo served it's purpose for a newborn but isn't working now for a toddler.

That said, I wouldn't personally part with it. Your kid is going to be using a stroller for say another 12-18mths. The bugaboo could come in handy for more all terrain walks. If a friend says hey do you fancy a walk to hampstead heath or bushy Park - I'm taking the vista. If I'm going to Wales - I'm taking the vista.

Fold it down and stick it under a bed or sofa.

The Fox is a bloody expensive pram and a quality one too. Compact strollers are not great for newborns - so if you plan on having a 2nd, I wouldn't be parting with it.

If your MIL doesn't mind storing it though, then sure why not ask.

Your husband should ring her and ask if she'd like it back or if she wants him to sell it on as you don't have room to store it and you've downsized the pushchair now he's a bit older.

Op I have the same pram and as others have said it’s amazing…
…. But I live really rurally and bought it for all the off road/muddy/cobblestone walks I do - which it’s excellent at. However it BARELY fits in my Tiguan all space even folded down, so it’s not small.I couldn’t imagine trying to take it round London!
we bought a travel chicco something or other that folds down small enough to go in the overhead lockers on planes for running around towns/holidays.

you def don’t sound ungrateful if you’ve used it for 15m already!

Just pop it in the loft and if they ask say that as baby is older now their needs from a pushchair have changed. Or you could ask if they want to use it at their house and keep it there?

The OP is in London... we don't have lofts here!

If the fox is as big as the cameleon was I can understand downsizing. They are great prams but big, I couldn't get my cameleon through our front door due to a weird door layout and some shops aisles were too narrow to get it down, and then I also couldn't get on the front of some buses as too wide to get between the seats. Was not a practical pram for small house city living. I would go with other suggestions of partner asking MIL if she wants it back for other grandchildren or for when grandchildren are at hers (my parents had a spare pram for visits to theirs, meant I didn't have to take the whole of our tiny car boot up with the cameleon!!)

Catsonskis.. how on Earth does it not fit into your Tiguan all space?? The bugaboo fox is so super compact, you can collapse the base right down and remove the wheels! Then the seat part fits right on top! I went from a small car to the same as you and there is plenty of space. I used my bugaboo from newborn to toddler, didn’t even entertain getting a buggy because the pushability with the fox was next to none,
hate pushing a buggy, too stressful
after the glidey fox.
