Have I ruined the flowers?

I have just received a lovely and huge and expensive-looking "hand tied" bouquet and thought I was supposed to cut the string off... but now I think I made a mistake. Can someone who knows about flowers please advise? The flower shop is closed today but the pictures on their site all show the bouquets (in clear glass vases) with the string still tied!
Should I try to tie it back together with string? I don't want to offend the sender who is arriving shortly.

They will be fine. The sting is just to keep them bunched together. Probably just to make them look better, especially for photos.

Flowers I ordered recently had a note saying flowers will last longer if kept tied together. They looked weird so I cut the string off, they now haven't opened and I wonder if it was because I cut the string?

Sorry no help but I was as baffled as you!

It doesn’t really matter just stick them in a vase.

ThreeLittleDots · 29/01/2023 11:53

Depends on your vase. Most aren't the right size/shape to display a hand-tied bouquet properly

Have you trimmed the stalks? That will
help. Also use tepid water not ice cold. Having the string on or not, won’t make any difference, don’t worry!

The buyer won't notice or care.

Why on earth would this offend the sender??

CohenTree · 29/01/2023 12:27

Thank you all! I think I need a better vase as they've spread out and look a bit more straggly than in the photo. But I will leave them as the are and leave the string on next time (one can hope!) Thanks all!
