Is school wrap around different in London now?

Pre covid I would always hear how school breakfast and after school clubs were a nightmare to get into.
Post covid with loads of people WFH and having moved out of London has the pressure eased? I'm hearing of some schools in Southwark having to close whole classes down because their numbers are so low but I don't know if this is anecdotal or not and what impact this is having on wrap around provision.
Would love to hear from anyone with kids in primary school. Thanks!

Wrap around care doesn't tend to be in classes.

But the after school club that served my son's old primary closed down. We'd stopped using it due to WFH. School did set up a provision in house though.

Southwark is more about areas where families have moved out completely. A lot of the new build appartments being built in areas like Elephant and Castle are not aimed at families - more the younger 'office' workers.
The families have gone away so there is less children who need school places.

Numbers are very low in Southwark and at least one school has closed, with many others vastly reducing their PAN (maximum number of children in a year group). Wraparound availability varies from school to school though.

Not here a bit further out in SE London. Still waiting list type activity and gold dust after school clubs

Thanks all, doesn't seem too promising for our prospects in September then!

Depends on how after school care is organised - at our school was guaranteed i.e. school staffs for the number of children who want it, whereas at another school (which was our second choice largely due to this) there's a waiting list and they are finding it difficult to recruit the staff.
