I’ve had a really bad, strong cough for what seems like forever now. Every time I cough badly, I wee 😬a lot, I’ve soaked my jeans twice now and have to wear sanitary towels at the moment, just daily.
It is a really awful cough, but I’ve never had this before, does it sound normal, I’m 45

Just been having a look and PUMA have Modibodi on sale, with a further 20% discount via promotional code.

Might be useful for anyone looking in. 👍

I had this with flu/Virus recently, was horrible and I had it with the flu years ago. It’s taken 5 weeks but I can cough without seeing again now.

I had this a few weeks ago ..it is the cough! I'm fine again now although slight cough still lingering. Don't worry OP it won't last forever...just feels like it at the time.

I have the dreaded cough too. Since mid-December. For me, it's worse in the mornings (as I have been lying down at night) and I cough and cough until I vomit up loads of 'goo'. Sorry if too much information.

I just can't control it, can feel the panic start as it affects my breathing then my stomach starts cramping and contracting. I've tried Sudafed to help with the congestion, but I have to be really careful what other meds I can take due to another health condition.

Cannot get a GP appointment for love nor money. At my wits end now. I'm trying to keep one room in my house warm to help but even that is putting me over budget on my electricity.

You have my sympathy. Have you tried speaking to a pharmacist? Or getting an appointment with a nurse?

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 28/01/2023 20:27

PS: In the short-term, you might better off trying Tena lady or something similar, rather than sanitary towels?

i pee when I sneeze. I need to cross my legs when I do it. That’s been a few years now since having my kids.

You could book an appt with a specialist physiotherapist who deals with pelvic floor issues. They will take a look at your muscle tone and recommend exercises and then check your progress.
The exercises take a few months to work, but persevere because they might well solve your problem.

Or one of the pelvic floor machines

I went to a women’s physio but she just kept giving me more exercises, then she said that she’d refer me on, but I do t want surgery. So that was that.
