To ask for travel pram suggestions (and Paris tips!)

Have a lovely bugaboo but the fold isn’t that small. Child will be 2 when travelling (via Eurostar for 5 nights in Paris) can someone suggest a great travel stroller with a small fold? Ideally with some form of decent basket space as I’ll have some luggage to bring and a bigger basket is always handy! Would also be greeeeeat if it didn’t break the bank 🙈

Bonus points for tips on what you’d do in central Paris for a few days around the end of July?

Thanks in advance!

mclaren style is normally good for travel.

we had one like this and it did just fine for years.

Fabulous suggestion thank you! And only fifty quid what a bargain 😱 how did you find the basket?

Ps take the baby to the playground in Parc Monceau. It’s one of the nicest parks in Paris imo.

I’ve just looked it up, gorgeous stroller but omg nearly £400! Is it worth it?

@MyWillyBrokeTheDogBowl Buy a second hand one and sell on when you return from holiday or decide you no longer need it. You will recoup most your costs. The Yoyo is great. We had the Mountain Buggy Nano which was brilliant.

StamppotAndGravy · 26/01/2023 21:19

Only the Yoyo goes through Paris metro gates. It's the only buggy you see in Paris! Any hotel or appartement is likely to have a lift the size of a miniature wardrobe for an added challenge

Yoyo is a dream when travelling! Super light and compact, and decent basket underneath considering the size.

@MyWillyBrokeTheDogBowl We have a Cybex Eezy S Twist 2. Bought it for a trip when DS was 1 and still use it for him now he’s just over 2. Definitely not the cheapest option but we will hopefully have more children so looked on it as a bit of an investment 🤞🏼

Folds small (one hand fold), can parent face or forward face (which I love because I can actually speak to DS properly!), large hood, can recline or lie completely flat, comes with a proper rain cover & you can get a decent cosy toes for it too.

Definitely have a look for second hand!

The bugaboo butterfly is great but a similar price to the Yoyo. It’s very comparable in size.

MyWillyBrokeTheDogBowl · 26/01/2023 21:35

Ah thank you for all the great suggestions I’m googling away now!

The Yo-yo is great. We originally had a cheaper Maclaren buggy but it got broken by an airline. It was pretty rickety too, far inferior to the yo-yo. Eventually replaced main buggy (a Bugaboo) with the yo-yo for full time use. It's v smooth to drive and very convenient if you are often taking it to places where space might be tight e.g. at a restaurant. I imagine it would be excellent in Paris for this reason. Folds easily. Extremely durable. Useful if you ever have to leave it at nursery, and handy in the car because it will fit in the passenger seat footwell if space in the boot is filled up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. Only downside is it's not a cross country type buggy - no good at coping with sand and mud, but that's not an issue for us really.
