To think my hair will never look normal?!

I’m really struggling with my hair at the moment and it’s really lowering my self esteem.

First it’s very thin and sparse, it’s always been thin but it literally goes gappy especially when it’s wet.
It is especially sparse now, I’ve put a picture on too.
It never dries properly because it just feels oily instead, and yet I get a very flaky scalp at the front of my head.

I’m having to keep wearing hair extensions because it makes me want to cry wearing it down, because it’s so gappy!

Im really trying, I’ve been using clarifying shampoo/conditioner, double washing, scalp massages, hair masks…

What do I do?!

Don't panic if it is alopecia. When I was diagnosed I was convinced I'd be completely bald within a year. Actually I've had lots of regrowth, still get new patches but generally easy to hide them.
Expect a dermatology referral to take months. Mine was rejected with a letter saying that treatments are no more effective than what the GP can prescribe. Dermovate lotion seemed to help me, you could ask your GP to prescribe that in the meantime.
But to be honest if you've had low b12 in the last 6 months I think it's quite likely to be a delayed response. Make sure you're taking a good multi vitamin with biotin and iron and hopefully it'll bounce back soon.

"Sprinkles ". My friend uses them and they make her hair look so much thicker. Not sure where they come from but I'm sure google will help

@balloonpops7 I would ask for a copy of your blood results to check them yourself my dr said my results were fine when I pushed he said my B12 and ferritin were on the low end so I asked for a copy myself and my ferritin was 29. NICE guidelines state ferritin under 30 is iron deficiency. I went down the private route and paid for an iron infusion and B12 injections as I'd already been taking a high dose of oral iron and B12 supplements for a year by that point.

I'd be looking to include as many nutrient dense natural foods as possible. I think it's easier for the body to absorb natural B12 etc. & also try to minimise stress.
