I am just beginning the process of thinking about a new (used) car and so have had a preliminary look at local used car places. I kind of know what I want but find its always best to actually sit in etc before narrowing down.
It may be that its January and so a slow sales month but so far of the three places I've been to I've come across two salesmen who have overshared their personal lives:
One (in his early 50s) who talked about his Thai bride who he married last summer and who is making him very happy at home and fitting into British life well he thought
and a second (probably mid40s) who told me all about his recent divorce after 20 years of marriage and how he had recently been seeing someone over Christmas but it hadnt worked out.
The third was fine - showed us the cars, gave us the keys to sit in and said come and find me in the office if you need anything.
What is it - Am I meant to feel happy or sorry for them and therefore buy their cars? Or is it all salesmen just dont know when to stop? Or do we have to go through all this before we can be business-like and talk about the actual cars? Or is it that they dont know how to talk to women?
At all times husband was with me so it wasnt as if I was a lone female
