Wobbly wisdom tooth - asking for reassurance!

I’ve started to notice some soreness on my bottom teeth for the last couple of days, so have used quite a bit of floss and mouthwash, just to keep the area clean and to avoid infection (and have also been brushing the area when brushing the rest of my teeth).

When I initially felt the pain, it felt like it was between my teeth, in the gum area. The closest tooth to that area is now also starting to hurt, and it feels a bit unstable as I can wobble it a bit with my fingers (although I’m not going too crazy or anything, as realise moving it about could actually dislodge it!!) The area around the tooth feels warm ish and tender, so maybe there’s a bit of an infection there.

I think the tooth affected is one of my wisdom teeth (it’s a tooth in the bottom right corner of my mouth, and it feels like the second to last tooth in the bottom right corner - which I thiiink makes it a wisdom tooth?) When I first felt the tooth wobble a little, I was quite freaked out, as I really don’t want to lose one of my adult teeth, so I hope it’s a wisdom tooth!

I have issues from time to time with the wisdom teeth on my bottom teeth, as they’ve grown at a weird angle, so sometimes get infected or painful. I haven’t had any taken out yet though (although dentist thinks would be a good idea to take them out in the long term).

I’ve got a dental appointment booked for tomorrow to check things over, but meanwhile, am just after some reassurance here in case anyone has had anything similar happen to them with their teeth?

Thanks!

Let the dentist have a look, worst case scenario is to have it out. The tooth could start crowding the rest of your teeth. I had all mine out at 18, after they caused a lot of problems. Try not to worry, all you can do is clean and floss.

If it's infected and wobbly it may well need to come out. The good news is it's right at the back. No one will ever notice and you probably won't notice either. I've lost a few teeth at the back (wisdom teeth and 2 teeth near wisdom teeth). It's fine.
