Would you put your MN username on a job application?

A school job application form requests that applicants give all social media usernames, including any pseudonyms and details of any websites they are involved with, for background safeguarding checks.

I understand that they might do a Google search and find publicly available stuff but this feels way too intrusive.

I can’t say that I’d apply for a job there.

light we are talking about the job application form in the OP which does want details of any website you are involved in.

I'm sure it would be difficult for you personally, OP, as that policy would reveal all your posts about education, which could make you appear to a very conservative MAT to be a loose cannon.

The thought had occurred to me Grin

I haven't noticed many edutweeters who post under their own name saying much about strike action, for example.

Didn’t President Trump try and executive order this for everyone visiting the US that they had to hand over their phone and disclose all their social media to be granted entry for even a family holiday at Disney?

So off that a school would be mimicking Trump. 🧐

I wouldn’t though. MN is not SM, so nothing to report.

My username would not get me far!
Fucks sake, a lot of users here post, and change names, because they are anonymous.
Imagine a potential employer looking through your MN posts... some could be light hearted stuff... but there could be really deep things like talking about abuse, mental health etc.
Your new boss could decide not to employ you on the basis you spoke about being sectioned 10 years ago, or that you really struggled with fertility so new boss might think you should not be around kids.

No, of course you don't. The fact you are even considering doing so is odd.

Read the op again oblomov22.

She is very clearly NOT considering doing so.

Your "fact" finding skills are rubbish but you sound so pleased with yourself 🤔
