Would you buy a newly renovated home if they had kept the original 1980s serving hatch amongst a modern handless kitchen?

Being unreasonable - no I wouldn’t buy jt
not being unreasonable - yes I would buy it

It's so trivial I wouldn't give it a second thought when buying a house.

I choose homes based on stuff like location, local amenities, aspect, view; the stuff that I can't change. All I require is that it ticks those boxes for our needs, and is habitable.

I'm not interested in the sellers furnishings, taste, decor, kitchen and bathroom fittings, state of the garden. Once we move in, all that can be changed.

My great aunt had a house with a serving hatch, and it was the highlight of my visits to help her make tea and put the cups and the biscuits through the hatch into the dining/living room.

I would love that in my house, it would bring back lots of happy memories.

My MIL has one and as she likes to talk all the time when she goes into the kitchen she pushes it open to carry on her conversation. She has also passed things through on occasion.

My DD also likes to open and close the little doors on it.

I would not be put off and would actually like one.

My last house had one and it was a bit of retro chic. I loved it. It's like having a hostess trolley.
