Wanting to join the gym me and my partner just for exercise purposes really!

However both feeling like when on earth do people fit it in? We've two small children 2&4 I work 3 days a week partner 5 days and we have a dog too!

Is it realistic to fit this in with school nursery and dancing class for eldest? Am I just trying to find an excuse or do people actually manage to get it in in their working week??

That isn't going to happen @bat - if they did go bust then someone like Amazon would buy the company. It wouldn't disappear.

I have a Peloton and love it and also have a gym membership too. As you have young children, I'd start with working out at home before signing up at the gym. Highly recommend Peloton - really good fun and lots more to it besides the bikes. I've transformed my fitness and physique. If you don't want expensive equipment then I'd recommend Les Mills workouts like Body Combat and Body Balance. You only need a mat and the on-demand classes are fab. I do these at the gym and mix it up with Peloton Strength classes at the Gym or home and the Bike at home.

@SunnySideDownBriefly isn't it really expensive to get the bikes and memberships for peloton?

I see people running with their dogs quite often. Might not work if you have an older dog or a lazy one but if it’s an energetic one then maybe try this? The lead attaches to a belt around their waist.

I’m a runner rather than gym but do lift weights at home too using YouTube videos for guidance. I always make the time to do it. Same with anything else, if you really want to do something you’ll find a way. Some people do it very early or in the evening if that works better for them. Weekends too.

Start really small. Set yourself up to succeed. Instead of one hour x3, go for 20 minutes twice. Legs one day, arms the next. Work your arse off when you’re there. You’re still doing better than sitting on a couch. Add longer / an extra session whenever you can.

Who walks the dog ? A brisk 30-60 minutes walk each day and buy some weights at home and - if you're not doing much atm - you're sorted.

My dc are older but I work full-time and go to the gym three times/week by going straight from work twice/week and once at the weekend for a longer session. I would love to go more but can’t reasonably fit it in.

I'm a runner . 5.30am is a good time to get up to do exercise, your done and dusted and showered by 7am

Take turns on going in the morning, it's hard first few times getting up early but if you really want to get fit you will do it .
