Would you want to be famous but not rich?

DH and I disagree on this.

Most people in the world appear to want to be rich and famous for obvious reasons. Obviously, many people will comment now that they don’t want fame or money and that’s clearly fine and personal preference but, in the main and in my experience, people do want that.

I think, however, most people who want to be rich and famous wouldn’t want to be famous without being rich. DH thinks people would still choose to be famous even if they weren’t rich.

So, if you’re someone who wants to be rich and famous, would you still want to be famous if you were only as rich as you are now?

YABU - Famous is famous, make me famous
YANBU - Give me the money, fame without money would suck

Rather be rich and not famous tbh.

If I had to be famous, I'd deffo want to be rich with it.

I would be happy to be well-known for my amazing writing or composing or dancing etc without the money, or because I've done some feat of bravery or heroism.

I wouldn't want to be a random celeb with or without money.

I would loathe being famous. No privacy or downtime ever, never trusting people and having randoms feel that they know you. No thanks.

I don’t even want to be particularly rich. I want to be comfortable and not have to worry about having money for things I want for my family but I’ve never wanted obscene riches. I think it’s terrible for children as well, being borne into massive wealth.

I would hate to be famous, the intrusion! Look T the craziness H&M stuff going on, would put anyone off.

I wouldn’t mind being famous for a genuine talent, like writing, or for doing something notable and worthwhile. Otherwise I’ll settle for rich please.
