Is this ok? Baby sleeping arrangements

Posting for traffic.

Is there any reason why my 10 month old couldn't sleep in a travel cot long term? She has outgrown the next to me but doesn't seem to be adjusting well to her cot. To be honest I don't think she's ready to go in her own room yet --and neither am I.

The cot is too big and bulky to go in our room but I thought a travel cot might be a smaller fit and kind of like a larger next to me. Especially with the mesh panels. I wondered if it's ok to do this and if anyone has any recommendations for a good one? Thank you.

I don't see why not as long as you get a decent mattress, we had travel cots and the mattresses that came with them were pretty thin. We mainly used them as a place to plonk DC for a short time. Check the dimensions though, ours were the same size as a standard cot.
Other options could be a floor bed, or a mattress in your room.
At that stage we were still co sleeping so totally get not wanting them to be too far away.

Dd was in one from 6-12 months, she was fine, I hated it, it's a long way to bend down as they get heavier.

Have you looked at a space saved cot, I don't know where it fits between standard cot and next to me but it might work better for your space.

I don't think she likes the bars and because she can see so much she gets distracted. She seems to feel more secure and comfortable with mesh surroundings. Sometimes she will play in the cot but she won't entertain the idea of sleeping in it. It's hard work.
