To think Ben Fogle is just so lovely?

Don’t normally start threads like this and am cringing slightly 😳

I’ve watched new lives in the wild as well as various other things he’s done for years and years now and he always just comes across as so lovely. Just watched last night’s new lives in tbe wild with the old lady in Australia, yet again he took her ‘quirks’ in good humour and managed to connect with her.

I dunno, I just can’t think of many ‘celebrities’ that come across as personable as him.

He’s not bad looking either I guess 😬

And no, this isn’t Ben, his wife or his mother 😂

Oh yes I like him too, but loved Alistair Appleby when he did the country homes programme!!

I always remember the psychologist lady on Castaway praising him to the skies during the training/assessment challenge. He has always come across as fundamentally a decent bloke.

He seems decent. But my TV fave is Jules Hudson from Escape to the Country. I have an imaginary life with him, on a farm with our pack of muddy spaniels and labs.

Ha Ha. Not to me he isn't. Well I guess it depends what you mean by lovely. I've had conversations with my mum about our different taste in men. The ones my mum like I am not attracted to at all. We were joking about this snd I said I could identify 3 men she would love to see me partnered off with that i would find unattractive. Ben was one. Michael Bouble and Prince William were the other 2.
I'm sure he's a nice enough person but I wouldn't be drawn to him.

He presented my D of E Award & seemed nice, only met him for a moment to shake his hand and get the badge though.

Sorry another one here who met him through work. He was rude, dismissive and arrogant. He begrudgingly spoke to me - he needed to as part of the project we were working on. Most famous people who I met in that capacity were lovely. He stands out as the only one who wasn't.

He was at a small event I went to years ago where Bruce Parry (remember him from Tribe?) was giving a talk and meeting people. Ben didn't mix with people at all and really kept himself to himself (fair enough I guess) whereas Bruce Parry was LOVELY!! I had such a crush on him that I could barely get my words out when I spoke with him.

Oh nooo, these negative reports have ruined my fantasy Ben :sobs: He must be an incredibly good ‘actor’ then as I always think he exudes tbe type of kindness and warmth that can’t be faked 😞

Oh I LOVE Bruce Parry. Tribe was brilliant. I finally read his book last year, it was really interesting. Wonder what he's doing now

I'm old enough to have met him once - when he was about 10 🤣

He's our vet. He's such a really lovely man and it's still a proper, independently owned practice--one of the few left, I think.

I am pretty sure he abandoned his wife with two young twins to piss off in a boat with James cracknell which put me off him quite a lot. Their marriage broke down shortly after unsurprisingly.

They've been married for over 20yrs and are still together. Yes he did the rowing thing. It's what he does, the whole exploring and reporting on it thing, it's his career.

Hi @w10mum3 - yes, he's a genuinely lovely man, that practice was wonderful - he was so helpful to us when we were trying to decide what dog breed to get - eek nearly 40yrs ago now.

Yes, small practices are rare - ours just sold out to one of the big groups when the "young vet" we started with finally retired. 😢

Why are you believing the few negative people @Rosesandbutterflys and not the ones who say they have met him and he is lovely? I think he is lovely, and have also been following him since he was on Castaway!

I always notice how sad his hosts ALL are when he leaves them again on New Lives. All those different, sometimes odd and difficult people, who consistently love him. That’s what I go by.

so my
mum just came off a boat with him when she was travelling to the orkneys, she spotted him right away and was over heckling him lol but she said he was lovely and some about what show he was doing just now and where he was gonna film. she said he was such a nice man x

In the Castaway book it's mentioned he said he was attracted to another cast member at the audition stages. Once selected he suddenly went off her...
