My dd 10, told me a boy in her class told her her mums fat!

I just feel so embarrassed.

Im mid thirties, i had a baby 6 months ago and have put on quite a bit of weight since. But i wasnt loads smaller before, always about a 16. Now more 16/18

My winter coat does also make me look enormous.

Anyway, he is 10, and i honestly haven't stopped thinking about it.

About to buy meal replacement shakes!!!

The parent of that boy is the one who should be mortified in raising such a nasty little kid. Your weight is your own business.

He’s ten. They’re brains are only half grown at that age.

Ignore him.

And meal replacement shakes are bullshit. I once got addicted to them. Please don’t drink them.

I rediscovered a message a few days ago where someone told me that I look like a tank and could weigh a couple of tonnes - and then another person agreed. The message was from a few years ago and, at the time, I only weighed 48kg. Comments on your weight rarely have any actual bearing on your size, just like comments saying you’re a “whore” very rarely actually comment on your profession.

It's quite possible that this boy doesn't even know who you are, let alone has observed your size. It's really common for kids of this age to find little digs like this to wind each other up.

Ignore!!
Your body has just been through pregnancy and labor!
Be proud of it,the child knows nothing.💐

YANBU to be upset - I'm from the same generation, that grew up thinking that being fat was one of the worst thing a woman could possibly be, and it's a hard mindset to shake - but please please please don't let your daughter see your react so negatively to the opinion of some random stranger.

My three-year-old always mistakes one plump mum for another on the playground. She did it in earshot of one of them once - "Eric's mum might have a Christmas card". It wasn't Eric's mum but both women are large and blonde. I could see what this woman's face that she knew exactly why my kid had her mixed up with someone else. Very embarrassing. I would rather hear that a kid thought I was fat than hear that my child had embarrassed someone. I AM a bit fat too, so it could happen. I'll report back.
