Aibu to not know what flavour stock cube this is. I only have green oxos but my other half goes rogue and buys knorr. Is this one veg or chicken. Smell test offers no clue.

If it’s yellow, it’s chicken, darkish brown, it’s beef, pinkish brown pork.

BrutusMcDogface · 08/01/2023 14:37

Yes, you have to look inside to see what colour it is! As the above plus the veggie ones are a bit more green.

hoppityscotch · 08/01/2023 14:38

What colour is it inside

happystrummer · 08/01/2023 14:44

Thanks...It's this colour..

Thinking that's beef then?

My Knorr veg stock cubes have green wrappers.
My chicken ones are orange/bronze wrappers.

hoppityscotch · 08/01/2023 14:53

Looks meaty

KittytheHare · 08/01/2023 14:54

I'd say beef.

Rabbitsandhabits · 08/01/2023 15:07

Hmm I agree with the others that red is beef, green is veg and yellow is chicken. Not sure what a silver one is?

Rabbitsandhabits · 08/01/2023 15:07

Is the main packet missing I assume?

Rabbitsandhabits · 08/01/2023 15:08

Just looking at them all on ocado and the zero salt versions are in a white/silver box so I wonder if it’s one of those? Same box for all the different zero salt flavours tho

CoachBeard · 08/01/2023 15:10

My Rich Beef ones have silver wrappers. The ordinary beef has red.

Harebrain · 08/01/2023 15:18

YABU not to keep the box that they came in. They really should print the flavour on the label though!

happystrummer · 08/01/2023 15:19

Thanks for all the replies! ..Internet search was unhelpful hence query here. I think I'll treat as beef to be on the safe side. And next time keep the box!

@Harebrain I know but I try and keep things organised in tubs so I can find them..but point taken I need to know what they are once they're found!!

That’s what happens when you’re far too organised 😂

Blankiefan · 08/01/2023 15:50

I'd say it was Ham. I'm sure they are silver like your photo.

ShakespearesBlister · 08/01/2023 15:59

I do the same thing but I keep chicken and beef in separate boxes.

percypal · 08/01/2023 16:01

The ham is not that colour @Blankiefan

SomethingOriginal2 · 08/01/2023 16:01

These are silver wrappers with chicken. Maybe they're old stock and there's new wrappers now?

WonderingWanda · 08/01/2023 16:06

Didn't they used to have little pictures on them? I never buy them because they don't dissolve very easily.

CorvusPurpureus · 08/01/2023 16:07

I would just use them up in beef-y cooking. If they're chicken, no worries, it won't overpower the beef flavours.

Rather than risking using beef cubes in a chicken dish iyswim.

whatadoodledo · 08/01/2023 16:17

I think it may be one of the low salt ones

OrdinaryAva · 08/01/2023 16:22

Cut a corner off & taste it, or have a quick 👅

Pixiedust1234 · 08/01/2023 16:23

Do you only replace/refill your storage pots when empty or just nearly empty? Im thinking of use by dates if its the latter. Also those containers actually take up more room in your shelf than the little box they come in.

Yes I know...its not what you asked. I've never used Knorr so can't help but I always keep items in their original boxes for use by dates, including egg boxes.
