I'm being treated like a mug?

I've had a new bathroom put in less than a year ago. The bathroom company has been back ten times or more. They went through the bathroom wall and put a huge hole into my son's bedroom wall, yes I kid you not. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong, toilet roll holders falling off, shower dripping.

I can't help but feel if I knew what I was talking about they wouldn't be getting away with this. I was relieved when they finally left my house. OK fast forward 11 months on.

There is the second leak, coming into my new kitchen, the first was due to an unsealed pipe, the second leak is in exactly the same place and I'm told it's either a leak on a pipe that's nothing to do with them, their pipes are above the floor, the old ones are below it apparantly. Or it is severe condensation in the sealed toilet cistern, which was literally dripping wet, soaking, on to the tiled floor but within the sealed unit where I can't see it or reach it to dry it.

The insurance will pay for the water damage not the repair to the leak.

This company have said they'll fix it for free. Whoopie doo dah!! Am I being unreasonable to tell them to sod off, get professionals in and take them to court to pay. Or do I have to give them another chance to fix it and risk them causing even more damage.

So far I have one hole in a bedroom wall, they fixed it and two leaks to my new kitchen ceiling 6 months apart I, wished I had left the old bathroom in, it was dated but I wasn't scared my house would fall apart.

God what a mess , how stressful ! The trouble is if you get someone else to do it then trying to get the original company to cover that cost will be very tricky . You could issue a summons on them for the costs and their defence will be that they offered to do the repairs . How about one last chance for them but make it clear if anything goes wrong you will take it further .

That's what another friend said to me,looks like the way forward though I don't want them in my house again. I've told my adult son, he's rightly said he's worried they'll fix this and break something else, which is totally reasonable, so am I.

It's his bedroom that had a huge hole in it when they were doing the job.

I feel sick with worry.

I would be worried too tbh , do you know anyone that knows about plumbing ? Friends partner ? Anyone that could come and have a chat with them ?

I would speak to whatever the uk version of Consumer Affairs department is so you know exactly where you stand then think about your next move.
