It must vary between surgeons and specialities. The govt. has a warning about medical tourism in Turkey.

The standard of medical facilities and available treatments vary widely around the world. As such, British nationals considering undertaking medical treatment in Turkey should carry out their own research; it is unwise to rely upon private companies that have a financial interest in arranging your medical treatment abroad. We are aware of 22 British nationals who have died in Turkey since January 2019 following medical tourism visits.

If you are travelling to Turkey to undertake a medical procedure we would advise you to refer to the HealthTurkiye portal website for medical providers who are approved by the Ministry of Health.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I did it in January last year. I’m 7st down and maintaining. Best decision I’ve ever made. Do your research and decide what’s best for you. Good luck.

I’ve lost 6 stone done in 7 months and put my diabetes into remission. My gastric sleeve is the best decision I’ve made for my health and I wish I’d done it sooner, it’s honestly changed my life. However, you really need to read, research and then research some more and make sure you choose a reputable company and high quality surgeon. I’d also really recommend some counselling/therapy beforehand to address food issues, as it is just a tool and if you don’t address underlying causes of overeating it’s easy to slip into old habits. Good luck with your decision.

Of course it's a risk. But then surgery in the U.K. carries its own risks
The difference is if there are complications you'll be stuck in a foreign country and you'll feel incredibly vulnerable. That's without any unexpected financial considerations
Not sleeve surgery but I had a face and neck lift around 10 weeks ago
I traveled on my own and my stay was challenging to say the least ( and I'm a health care professional )
Do your research extensively. Most surgeons have their own surgical specialties
It's unlikely that you'll be able to obtain travel insurance
Make sure you've considered other non invasive options
Take a friend who can advocate for you
Good luck op Flowers

I had it done in Turkey in November 21 and have lost over 13.5 stones. The best thing I’ve ever done for myself, I just wish aid been in a position to do it sooner.

The care was amazing and better than I’d have had in the UK.Feel free to pm me if you want to know specifics
