To consider buying a London dinner cruise via...

Dh and I going to spend a few days in London in March. We are so excited as this is our first time away together since having children (oldest is now 20!) So we already have afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason booked and now we are looking at a dinner cruise. We have found what sounds like a lovely cruise, 4 course menu, West end singer, 3 hour duration for £170.
Just came across another one on buy a gift that gives basic info. I.e. 4 course menu, 3 hour long. Entertainment (sounds very similar but doesn't detail the set menu or what singer it is, so unsure if it's the same cruise).
It's only £143 for the 2 of us so a bit of a saving. What would you do?
Does anyone have any experience with buying from buy a gift?
Thank you.

I think it might work but the thing with those vouchers is that they don’t guarantee availability - I’ve not bought that one but did get a race track day for a friend and it was hard for them to book as they could only choose one of the ‘unpopular’ days or something many months in advance. If there is a refund option then perhaps you could buy, check if you can book the date you want and then refund if not, but if they don’t offer an easy refund option you’re at risk of not being able to book it when you want.

Have you tried googling vouchers or discounts for the dinner cruise?

Personally, I'd spend the money on a good dinner elsewhere and do a trip on the river some other way. The Clipper (river bus) is my favourite but there are other tourist cruises if you want commentary.

I've been on a couple of dinner cruises (paid for by others!) and the food is very average, the surroundings basic and the entertainment OK

I've used Buyagift a few times, for afternoon tea and 3 course dinner, with no issues. All instructions on redeeming the voucher are in the pack you're sent. There shouldn't be any problems. Good luck!

Wouldn’t do a dinner cruise… you are stuck on the boat, often they are very noisy (used to live by the river and could imagine having to sit through the entertainment with no way out), dodgy toilets, average food. Initially loved it, after an hour I was ready to get off.
go to a nice restaurant and take a trip down the river on a Thames clipper…

OP, my advice is to book a good west end show and a nice pre theatre menu at a well reviewed restaurant. You can then jump on the clipper or similar for a short hop another time at your leisure. This will give you a much better and more authentic London experience and infinitely better food!
