To be over the moon that my 7 year old said 'mummy'

DS7 is (generally) non verbal, ASD and severe learning difficulties. We get very very limited and occasional words. He has said daddy quite a few times and his brother's name.

Today while I was getting him out of the car he said 'mummy quick'! First time he has ever said it!!!!!!

Amazing! My DD5 has Down Syndrome and has very limited speech. Makes me so happy every new word/sound she says. What a big achievement for you all today!

I taught children like your son for three decades, and worked with so many parents who longed to hear 'mummy' or 'daddy'.
