Lying in bed mumsnetting and casually helping myself to chocolate seashells and I've just stuck my hand in to get another one and realised I've eaten the lot. I don't even feel that sick- I'm such a greedy cow.
I really tried hard before Christmas to lose weight after dc3 and I've just put it back on in the last week. Please make me feel better by telling me I'm not the only one as greedy as this

Was at an all you can eat Chinese buffet. I had been up twice and the third time I went up the waiter took my plate off me and says no more! I was too embarrassed to argue!

kessiebird · 31/12/2022 23:57

My best mate and I once talked about Chinese food all the way up the weight watchers queue. We drove to an all you can eat buffet afterwards and well, you can imagine.

When I was 8 months pregnant I went to an all you can eat Thai restaurant with my friend who also has an ahem healthy appetite.

Our husbands left after about two hours. They may have been slightly appalled. We stayed.

The next day the restaurant had a sign up saying there would now be a time limit.

I felt like Homer Simpson that time he sued the all you can eat seafood place

I swear the sign change at the buffet gave me a proper first laugh of the new year.

Atta girl - find your pride. You re-wrote the rules.

Everyone in my house has the lurgy so haven't been interested in food. I'm worried about things going out of date and having to bin food so I've just eaten a full chocolate log.

I can't get up off the couch

My sister once ate 8 Krispy Kreme’s in a row (filled ones.) she told me all whispers and guilt- I was just impressed Grin

This takes some doing. They’re sickly lol

HellsCominWithMe · 01/01/2023 00:21

After 2 weeks of a virus. Eating nothing but crap- biscuits cheese and processed meats - because I’ve been too ill to cook I’ve polished off a punnet of raspberries, mixed grapes, 3 bananas, an orange and a duck liver pate sandwich.

I can’t gorge on sweet foods like I used to because not only do I feel physically sick the heartburn is unreal (no gallbladder) but my god do I go though fruit.

Waystation · 01/01/2023 00:34

I have had trifle five times today - after breakfast, mid morning, after lunch and mid afternoon - and just now I took the bowl out of the fridge and stood there with a spoon and finished it off - I make excellent trifle, I don’t feel bad!

I ate an entire Lidl marzipan log on Christmas Eve Blush

I've got a second one waiting in the cupboard Grin

I have lost two stones since the summer. Went away to a hotel for Christmas certainly not intending to watch my diet over the three days. Had nothing much in the house I fancied to eat the night before I went and thought sod the diet, I’m going to have a blow out so took myself to M&S. I bought two lovely seedy rolls and had these with cheese. Over the course of the evening I also had a cheese and onion twist followed by an almond croissant. To top it off I polished off two custard filled choux buns. Obviously this was much more fat than I have eaten for months and all I will say is it had a similar effect to the bowel prep I had for a colonoscopy last year! 😂. I thoroughly enjoyed the binge but don’t think it stayed in for long enough to absorb many of the calories. Pleased to report I’m now back on the sensible eating plan.

Half my life ago (early 20's) my best friend turned up at my house with a carrot cake. I had already bought a carrot cake to share with her.

So, I've the course of the afternoon she and I ate a carrot cake eat, washed down with a pot of tea each, every so often taking a break to have a small nap on the sofa.

Best day. No regrets.

One of my favourite stories ever 😂

louderthan · 01/01/2023 00:52

Ordered a Chinese one evening, ate it all, ordered a KFC two hours later, ate it all 😳

Wibbly1008 · 01/01/2023 00:57

….nearly half way through that wheel of Stilton…it’s been an ongoing war over that’s spilled across Christmas. It’s striped and in camouflage, but I’ve seen it…and that beast will be taken down…

I ate an entire box of mint Matchmakers in ten minutes yesterday afternoon, while watching Strike.

It’s high on my list of Best Afternoons Ever.

Love strike!!

I was at in-law's for Christmas and left some of the choc log I'd taken behind when I left. It really was the most chocolatey log and I know it won't get eaten - so annoyed with myself!

Are they chocolate covered? I need to get myself to Lidl and hope they have some!

plominoagain · 01/01/2023 01:39

I once had a particularly infuriating day at work . So stopped at a Tesco on the way home and bought two of those family packs of cream chocolate eclairs , and basically chain ate my way through all 8 . It was only when I had eaten the last one , and was licking the last of the cream off the clear plastic tray , that I realised I had parked nose to nose with a van full of plumbers who had watched , fascinated while I'd scoffed the lot .

Oh, yes, indeedy - fully encased in chocolate Xmas Grin - get yourself down there!

Blueberrycreampie · 01/01/2023 01:47

@PlaitBilledDuckyPuss On second thoughts maybe not; if it's the ones I'm thinking about I won't even make it home. Last time I ate one in Lidl's car park! They are like crack aren't they?

paisley256 · 01/01/2023 01:50

I can eat a whole box of chocolate seashells from Sainsbury's car park to my front door, probably 3 mins tops! 😊

Mybestyear · 01/01/2023 02:00

Once got a Chinese takeaway for myself - large portion of chips, curry sauce and fried rice. DS was out and phoned and asked “what’s for tea?” I said there’s left over from the Chinese - he says “great!”. I then eat it all but too embarrassed to say so need to go back to Chinese and order same again - wee guy serving looks at me like “eh!”. Then I ate half of new order so it wouldn’t look like another order!! Greedy 🐷

StrandedStarfish · 01/01/2023 02:10

I once met a friend for breakfast in IKEA. We are breakfast then had pastries and coffee, then stayed for lunch

Serenity45 · 01/01/2023 02:25

Going to a matinee show at theatre with stepmum and went for a nice lunch first...starters, mains, bread and a few drinks. Realised that we wouldn't have time for dessert, so went and enjoyed the show (might have smuggled a few mini bottles of wine in). Waiter in restaurant was laughing when we went back for desserts afterwards - we were determined to have our puds Grin
