To spend the day eating up all cakes and chocolate in the house so they don't spoil my New Year's Resolutions tomorrow

I think its the only way to give myself a fair chance of my new sensible diet lasting past lunchtime tomorrow. WIth all this temptation lying around I', going to fail at the first hurdle. I think I'd better eat the temptations today, so I dont fall for them tomorrow. Thats the best plan, isn't it.

The bin is always an option! If you eat them today, you're just packing in more calories you then need to burn off, so its no different than eating them all tomorrow.

Thedaysthatremain · 31/12/2022 10:52

It might be unreasonable but thats my plan too!

CottonSock · 31/12/2022 10:52

Yes, I'm taking them all to my friends house tonight to let 5 kids go for it with what's left. Plus the booze. They probably won't thank me.

TwilightSkies · 31/12/2022 10:54

No, don’t eat them all. It’ll make you feel bloated and sick.
Could you try eating intuitively?

mamma2013 · 31/12/2022 10:58

Every year I say I'm going to be healthy and no more chocolates from jan 1st. This year I've said no it doesn't work and instead I've accepted and appreciated all the chocolates and stuff in the house and said let's just enjoy them but eat them slowly not eat a whole box in one go!

Let's see if it works!

Idlechitchat · 31/12/2022 10:59

I’ve had chocolate for breakfast to get it out of the way!

Trudij123 · 31/12/2022 11:01

My plan is to try and not binge on them. And if I want a bar of chocolate, have a bar of chocolate rather than trying to pretend I like any of the low calorie options which never hit the spot and after three of those in an attempt to sort out the craving I’ve managed to consume more calories than if I’d just had the original thing I fancied in the first place….

other than that - yep, totally with you on the “ if it’s not in the house then I can’t eat it, so eat it all today”

and whoever said the bin is an option - food waste!! Can’t do that- food waste = bad 🤣

RegularNameChangerVersion21 · 31/12/2022 11:02

Definitely don't go mad eating them all you'll feel you have to compensate by going extra strict on your diet in the new year and strict diets don't work. Have a few treats today and make sure you include some treats in your new year's diet too. Throw away any extras.

SlashBeef · 31/12/2022 11:07

I understand the logic but that way of thinking certainly didn't help me. I finally lost 6 stone this year eating everything in moderation. I've still had mcdonalds, chocolate, cakes etc just not in the binge eating way I used to. If you feel like it will stop your progress and you won't be able to moderate your intake, by all means get rid of it but that mindset of "no I can never est that again" usually isn't helpful

aintnothinbutagstring · 31/12/2022 11:15

It's not something I'd do - I'd feel ill. Seems a bit unhealthy frame of mind to binge one day to then go into a strict diet the next. I have leftover cream/cheese/chocolate - will probably bin the cream, and the cheese if it can't be used in cooking. Chocolate can just be a small treat here and there. Everything in moderation.

Ariela · 31/12/2022 11:21

Offer them locally

BarryK3nt · 31/12/2022 11:23

No, just throw it away.
