Anyone else having a few more chocolates, another glass of wine, and of course the bottle of Baileys must be finished before the new year!

On Jan 1st I will completely stop all alcohol for one month..but obviously not including those drinking in the new year few glasses of whatever is your tipple…only starts when you wake up on the 1st obviously!!

I will start jogging every day and eat healthily. The start of a new me.

Am I being unreasonable to say this every year and every year to be weak and never manage it?

Do you have the same thoughts and actually achieve your goals? Or are you like me!

Love your answers!! Lots of you feeling just like me!

I will not be starting to be good until the New Year..starting now is just not an option!

The last of the bottle of Chardonnay finished and thinking about that opened bottle of Baileys now…

Exante for weight loss.

I'm not good with plans like these, I just end up packing it all back on. I'm thinking some sort of brain surgery/hypnosis to stop me being a big fat greedy bastard.

I’m honestly tempted to buy another bottle of Baileys but it is a Christmas drink so I don’t think I can justify it ☹️

Sorry op I jog 2-3 times a week and you are not going to go jogging every day . Prove me wrong but are you really going to start jogging every single day from zero ? In the dark / rain / cold ? .
start tomorrow going for a walk / jog and do this every couple of days .
the bad food / alcohol of course everyone cuts back but to ban completely for a month it’s daft . Cut down , everything in moderation and a little bit of exercise and you will feel better in a few days I guarantee it .
if you finish all this bad food and drink and tell yourself no more from the 1st you are setting yourself up to fail .

🤣 I have rwal trouble losing weight and have been on 1200 cals for years with tonnes of exercise and only lost a pound a month on this, it goes back on super.easy too so this really is a drastic step -.I do 800 cals a day (3 shakes no food) and it really is the only thing that works, my metabolism really is shit (pcos and hashimoto) so I reckon my maintain level is 1200 cals so 800 cals it is - the shakes give me full nutrition which would be hard to achieve as a veggie and a faff for a 800 cal menu so it really takes the work out of it and I don't have to think about food. I think being super strict for so long before did make it much easier to stick to the shakes. I need to lose 2-3 stone more but reckon the last stone will be a bugger. Other people lose weight much faster than I do on the same diet but at least I am going in the right direction......

Everyone is different though it is just finding what works for you. When I was just super strict on calorie control it helped doing lots of exercise so when I looked at other foods I also thought about those calories in terms of exercise and whether it was worth it. The shakes are easier though for sure.

@maddening sadly I'm also menopausal with shit lungs hence weight gain etc. 😪

My doctor told me today that sugar is the enemy and so will look into low sugar and all that entails in the new year!

I would just start a mental shift as of right now rather than being harsh on yourself or all or nothing! Rather than jogging every day, why not start with a longer than usual walk tomorrow? And then the following day if you feel like a jog do it, but if not do another walk. And with food - why not allow yourself a couple of small chocolates any day you like but just stop at that? I say this after decades of learning how to find moderation/balance - it really is the only thing you can do consistently, even if it takes a while to get used to!

I said I was going to cut down on alcohol from Jan 1st last Christmas.

I’ve been completely teetotal since Jan 1st.

If can be done, just depends how much you genuinely want change.

I don’t have any resolutions this year, just a few things I want to “do” in 2023 rather than a list of stuff I “don’t” want to do.

It is very shit - I have good eyebrows, no grey hair at 45 and no wrinkles - but all these can be faked - there is no faking a shit metabolism due to conditions/illness/meds/genetics/etc and the path to fight it is.so much harder than other people even realise.
