Does this exist anymore. Just tolerate mine. Polite and say hi but they actually annoy me. Both sides grrrr

I love my opposite neighbour. Our dogs are best friends, we lend each other things, we help each other out. We are different generations and nationalities but we get on well.

amispeakingintongues · 29/12/2022 00:39

I had mine over for Christmas dinner

clpsmum · 29/12/2022 00:45

I'm in a relationship with mine

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 29/12/2022 00:46

Mine is a massive wanker. We moved due to an awful neighbour (semi detached) and ended up with an almost as bad neighbour.

My mum has fantastic neighbours now but had moved there due to weird neighbours at previous house who used to stare into her windows leaning over the fence from their back doorstep. It used to scare the shit out of her when she'd walk into the kitchen to find a bloke's face pressed up against the glass.

ive been lucky and always have got on with my neighbours. We are very different people, different ages, different financial statuses, different backgrounds, different political and religious beliefs, but I don’t think grr when I see them.

We say hello, chat about the weather, grumble how little time we have, and say see you soon.

Christmas, we exchange cards and this year I bought everyone “Christmassy Tealights” 69p for two and 5p for the bow from Poundland.

Easter - four crème eggs in an egg box and a card.

Birthdays is generally a card, and a small gift personal to the birthday boy or girl.

i love being on good terms with my neighbours, we don’t borrow cups of sugar etc, we just take in parcels for each other and just try our best not to piss each other off!!

I think having a Rottweiler stops any behaviour like that

Used to. Until they accumulated 5 cars and a work van between 3 adults and insist on parking over our dropped kerb most days. What we thought was friendliness soon turned to rude and weird and nosy.

I really like my neighbours on both sides. I live in a semi, but because of th way our 1930s houses are built the one attached to us is on a different road, has a different postcode and isn't visible from ours. But both are really nice people. We are not close, but we are all there if needed. The pandemic proved that to us all.

This will probably out me slightly…
Below are all the neighbours I have moved next to since moving out of parents years ago.

First neighbours didn’t ever see - pure bliss

second neighbour - middle age man with mental health problems, we had to move because he caused an accident on purpose that nearly killed my 4 year old at the time.

third neighbours - lovely family very very quiet

forth neighbour - older family with a wife who never left the house so complained about anything and everything such as a leaf from my tree blowing on her drive.

fifth neighbour - can hear the mans voice through the wall and he loves the sound of his own voice. Neighbour not attached has a very yappy dog that we can also hear.

next move will be a detached property in the middle of nowhere 😁

Forestwalks · 29/12/2022 01:10

*meant fourth - very unwell currently so that will be my excuse for a badly written post 😉

ScarierThanBoo · 29/12/2022 01:11

Always been super lucky with neighbours, but especially our current neighbours in our first mortgaged home - so with any luck theyll always be there. Bought them lovely Christmas gifts again because theyre wonderful people. I do miss my old lovely neighbours, wish we could all live on one street lol

Can I ask what the accident was?

talkingmorenonsense · 29/12/2022 01:13

Ours are really lovely. ♥️

Goatling · 29/12/2022 01:16

Hate mine, that's why I'm moving.

Spongeboob · 29/12/2022 01:34

Tolerate pretty much sums it up.

ILoveeCakes · 29/12/2022 01:36

Stick to being neighbours rather than hoping for a friend, and you can live next to a lot of people. Start telling them your political views and hoping they like them......risky.......
